This one did well on the weekend in the canal, 2 fish to 8 pounds and one lost about 10.
I find that similar patterns in perch colors work well in lakes

The tail is white saddle feathers
The wing is a composite of white (bottom to top)
Super Hair
Enrico Puglisi Fibres
and a top wing of a Zonker strip

the side is yellow crystal flash

the body is made of Cactus Chenille

the eyes are Epoxy'ed on

the hook is a Partridge Absolute Pike Hook in a 2/0

Hope this is of some help

To be honest i don't know what this fly is called!

Its a typical deceiver pattern with the Rabbit zonker strip tied in as a wing

One of the lads came back from the Paris fishing show last spring with some pike flys tied by Mark Petitjean. They were like these so i stole the pattern

If you are looking for other files that work well i would try some of Enrico Puglisi (Pike/Offshore Flies)

http://www.madriveroutfitters.com/pc-19 ... flies.aspx

Tied some up myself for this weekend and they are great, shed water straight away and are very easy to cast. nice movement in the water too.. Missed two good pike on the canal this weekend with a pure white one. one Fish was about 8 pounds... gutted. haven't had a pike in 4 outings now. but everyone else is catching  ...

Hope this is of some help

all the best

Two commercially available flies Both by Fullingmill

Top one.
Pike Grizzle & Black

2nd
PIke Perch Special

The Grizzle & Black took lots of good pike on the Corrib last year up to about 12lbs.
Has good success with the perch special in the lakes of Cavan- nothing huge but up to about 8lbs

hope of some use

Here is a Pike caught on a Fly at Dromore Lake near Ennis, Co. Clare.
The fly is fairly visible - I think it is called a Perch Fly.
