Anyone fancy a day on the shores in Blessington tomorrow?
Will be my first time on the lake for pike, usually fish in Ramor and Lakes in Leitrim.
Only really looking for someone to take pictures of my catch! ;) Only joking
If anyone has any info on the lake please feel free to pm me, Where's the best place to access the lake?I've fished there before on either side of the bridge but had a few non fish buddies with me and didn't have any of my own hooks in the water for any real length of time!

Thanks

Anyone read any strange news reports at the weekend, "Headless Chicken Fishes Lake" well not to worry it was only me.
I left a map I had made in work on thursday so that was a bad start.
Got smelt as per recommended in Tallaght R&G. My fish monger had given away the whole Mackerel and sardines I had ordered away(it was good friday)
Picked up my license so I've to make another 5 trips now before September to get my monies worth. First place I checked out was sort of "off road" at the end of the road past Avon Ri, Looking back I shouldve set up there but I didnt fancy it if the bad weather we were promised came to fruition.

Next stop the rowing club, a couple of lads set up but had had no the luck and water seemed a bit featureless so not for me after more cruising around and reccying I set up at the Dublin end of the lake not too far from a car park. Quite shallow but seemed like good pike habitat.

Smelt on float, ledgered, and spinning all sorts of lures from my bag of tricks but no action what so ever and nothing for the other 3 lads spinning in the same vicinity, 3 hours there I packed up and relocated to Blessington Bridge and two hours there but no joy.

Nice day though

Sure I'll be back as they say

Did you fish until dusk? At this time of year I have noticed a significant number of takes come late in the day up there.
